What does this price cover?

This is the starting tariff for the named one-way route. Confirm the final quote for your exact addresses and date. Ask for transport, fuel, driver expenses, border/vehicle charges, tolls, parking and waiting to be itemised; no all-inclusive total or vehicle availability is implied.

Return travel, overnight retention, sightseeing and route changes need their own quotation. A private vehicle price is not a per-person fare.

The useful details, first

  • Allow approximately 280 km and 12 hours for the complete Gorakhpur–Pokhara journey.
  • One-way owner-confirmed fares start at ₹14,500 per vehicle; private multi-day travel is quoted separately.
  • Lakeside, a hill property, Begnas and the airport need different final-drop planning.

01

From Gorakhpur to your Pokhara stay

NepalTaxi’s approved planning figures are approximately 280 km and 12 hours for the complete Gorakhpur–Pokhara journey. Treat this as a full travel day, not as the distance or driving time from the border. The final schedule depends on the actual pickup and drop, road conditions, breaks and border processing.

A private one-way transfer works well when your Pokhara accommodation and onward arrangements are already decided. It also lets you request a pickup that matches your train, flight or hotel departure in Gorakhpur. Tell us what happens after the drop: a relaxed hotel arrival, a separate trek departure and an onward connection require different buffers, even though all three enquiries may initially say “Pokhara”.

02

Make the Gorakhpur pickup easy

Send your train or flight number with the date and expected arrival. Agree on a clear meeting point rather than relying on the vehicle being immediately outside a platform or terminal. Include a working traveller contact number, the number of bags and any extra pickup stop for another member of your group.

For a hotel pickup, send the hotel name and map location; for a private address, include a useful landmark. Tell us early if arrival delays could change the departure time. Confirm how driver waiting is handled and whether a late arrival would be better followed by a rest overnight. A transfer quote should describe the pickup you have chosen, not leave a station-to-hotel detour to be resolved at departure.

03

Lakeside, Begnas or another Pokhara address?

Phewa, Begnas and Rupa are different lakes in the Pokhara area. “Lake hotel” is therefore not enough detail for a drop request. Share the property name, address and map pin, and identify Lakeside or another neighbourhood if it appears on your booking. A change of destination after departure can change the agreed service and fare.

If you are joining a trek, distinguish your Pokhara hotel or trekking-office drop from a transfer to a trailhead. Those are separate journeys with different road and vehicle requirements. Let your trekking organiser provide the exact meeting location and reporting time, and allow time to prepare your kit after this long cross-border drive rather than assuming you can continue immediately.

04

Choose your vehicle around the luggage

A light city break and a trekking holiday can have very different luggage needs even with the same number of passengers. List suitcases, trekking duffels, rucksacks and any bulky equipment before choosing between the Sedan, SUV / MPV, Scorpio and Innova Crysta preferences. Ask for the proposed vehicle’s usable luggage space, not just a nominal seat count.

An SUV label is not a promise of four-wheel drive or suitability for every mountain road. If your onward plan includes Muktinath or a remote trailhead, request that leg separately and disclose the exact destination. For families, include children’s ages and any child-seat request; for travellers with limited mobility, discuss entry height and stop frequency before confirming the vehicle.

05

Keep your arrival day unhurried

Pokhara is a base for lake stays and onward mountain travel. Give yourself room to settle into the hotel before scheduling activities. Do not attach a fixed boat trip, flight or early trek departure to an assumed road arrival time. Mountain views and outdoor activities depend on conditions and cannot be guaranteed by booking a taxi.

If you want local sightseeing on a later day, send a separate list of places and the date you would like to visit them. A hotel transfer, a local day hire and a multi-day journey each need their own scope. Keeping them separate in your enquiry makes it easier to see what you are paying for and avoids interpreting the one-way drop price as unlimited local use.

06

Return to Gorakhpur or continue to Kathmandu

For a return booking, share both travel dates and say whether the vehicle is needed during your Pokhara stay. The quote should distinguish the return transfer from local use, overnight retention and driver expenses. Return pricing is on request; it is not automatically twice the published one-way rate.

For a Pokhara–Kathmandu extension, describe all overnight stops and your final departure point. You may prefer a standalone Gorakhpur–Pokhara transfer followed by a separately arranged intercity ride, or one custom tour quotation covering the whole circuit. A Lumbini visit or another sightseeing stop should also be agreed before travel, with time at the destination and any added waiting clearly recorded.

07

Crossing the border and preparing for the road

Use the Sunauli guide to prepare the border part of your plan, and check current passenger-document requirements separately from the vehicle’s paperwork. Ask whether your quoted arrangement is a through vehicle or involves a coordinated change. If there is a change, establish the meeting location, next contact and how the bags move between vehicles.

Before departure, reconfirm the hotel pin in Pokhara and any road updates that affect your travel date. Keep documents, water and everyday essentials accessible. Plan breaks around your group and let the driver choose an appropriate safe stopping place. No fixed border-processing time or uninterrupted road schedule is included in the approximate 12-hour journey figure.

08

Arriving at Lakeside versus a hill hotel

Lakeside is a practical area to name when discussing a Pokhara stay, but it is not an exact address. Give the accommodation pin and contact number so the driver has a defined finish. If a property advertises a view from a hillside, check its access road and luggage transfer arrangements directly with the property before selecting a vehicle.

Do not book a late-afternoon activity on the assumption that the taxi will arrive at a precise hour. The border, breaks and road conditions all affect the day. A flexible check-in plan keeps the journey useful even if the final arrival moves later than expected.

09

Use Pokhara as a base, not a checklist

Nepal Tourism Board identifies Phewa, Begnas and Rupa as separate lakes around Pokhara. A visit to one does not cover the others. For a short stay, group nearby interests and leave a separate block for a more distant lake or viewpoint. Boat rides, attraction admissions and activity operators are separate from the intercity fare.

If you are continuing to a trek, send the trekking operator's meeting point and date. Pokhara city drop-off is not a commitment to drive to an unspecified trailhead. Trekking duffels, walking poles and bags stored at a second hotel should be included when choosing the vehicle.

Before you book

What is the Gorakhpur to Pokhara taxi fare?

Published one-way starting fares are ₹14,500 for a Sedan, ₹16,999 for an SUV / MPV, ₹17,000 for a Scorpio and ₹22,000 for an Innova Crysta. Prices are in INR per vehicle. Confirm your travel date, addresses, vehicle and complete inclusion or extra-charge breakdown in the written quote.

Is the distance 280 km from the border?

No. Approximately 280 km and 12 hours are the approved NepalTaxi planning figures for the complete Gorakhpur–Pokhara journey. They must not be reused as border-origin figures or guaranteed driving time.

Can the taxi drop me at a Lakeside hotel?

Request your exact Lakeside hotel by name and map pin. Confirm vehicle access and the agreed stopping point with the property if the entrance is on a small lane. Other Pokhara-area addresses must also be specified before the final quote.

Can I carry trekking bags?

Describe the number and size of all bags before booking, including duffels and large rucksacks. The operator needs to confirm the actual vehicle and luggage arrangement. A vehicle category alone does not establish capacity.

Does the fare cover a Muktinath or trekking transfer?

No onward mountain transfer is advertised as part of this Pokhara one-way tariff. Give the precise onward destination and request a separate itinerary and suitable vehicle confirmation.

Can I add Lumbini or return through Kathmandu?

Request those places as part of a custom itinerary with dates and overnight stops. Extra destination visits and a different return route require their own quote; they are not automatically included in the one-way fare.

Does the Pokhara fare cover a Begnas-area or hill hotel?

Send the actual property pin. Lakeside, Begnas and hill properties involve different final approaches; confirm the endpoint and any revised fare before booking.

Can this taxi take us straight to a trekking trailhead?

A Pokhara city transfer does not establish trailhead transport. Name the exact road destination so suitability and the additional journey can be assessed separately.

Is the fare or vehicle confirmed when I send an enquiry?

No. WhatsApp opens a draft with your trip details. Request a written quote confirming price, vehicle, inclusions and payment or cancellation conditions before accepting a booking.

Can I book without a fixed travel date?

Use the dates-undecided enquiry link and describe your intended month or date range. The final quote and availability will need exact dates.
